In 2005, Technopolis was completed – India’s first LEED certified Green IT Park and the first building on Earth to earn carbon credits. Not in Silicon valley – USA, not in Germany – Europe, not in Shanghai – China, the first building in the world to earn Carbon Credits sits in Kolkata – India.

Spread over 7,75,000 sq. ft. in Salt Lake Sector V, Kolkata, Technopolis stands in a league of its own. It is compliant with the most stringent guidelines of U.S. Green Building Council and received Gold certification under USGBC’s LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) programme.

Through thoughtful design, use of innovative materials and technologies, Technopolis has achieved a remarkable 35.5% energy efficiency. It is the first project in the world to earn carbon credits. United Nations recognised Technopolis as the 1st Green Building in the world to be registered as a CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) Project under the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change).
